Accreditation
Effective for Students Enrolled Fall 2026 and After: The Surgical Technology program at Berkeley College is currently not accredited by any programmatic accrediting agency for Surgical Technology education. Berkeley College is seeking programmatic accreditation; however, there is no guarantee that accreditation will be granted or achieved within a specific timeframe.
Applicants should understand that graduating from a non-accredited Surgical Technology program may affect eligibility for certain certifications and employment opportunities and that some employers and credentialing organizations may require graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Students are encouraged to review certification eligibility requirements and employment expectations within the state(s) where they intend to seek employment.
Effective for Students Enrolled Prior to 2025: The Surgical Technology Program at Berkeley College has had its accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) withdrawn, effective January 16, 2025.
As a result, this program is no longer recognized as meeting CAAHEP standards. Please note that all currently enrolled Surgical Technology students, as of January 16, 2025, are considered to be attending a CAAHEP accredited program. For additional information, please visit the CAAHEP website at www.caahep.org.
